Getting under the sun can be fun. We actually need a little bit of sunshine to get vitamin D, that is if you prefer the free version. But getting too much is a different story.
The sun can also give a nice color to the skin and make it look more alive. But then again, too much of it can burn the skin. Fortunately, after-sun treatments are available to help soothe, relieve, and heal the skin.
I have been using the Seven Minerals Pure Organic Aloe Vera Gel and it’s been working amazing! Find out why I think it’s the best organic after-sun skincare.
How Does Skin Sun Damage Happen?
Along with vitamin D are powerful sun rays that can cause skin damage. These are the ultraviolet (UV) rays.
Under the outermost layer of the skin exists melanin. Melanin is responsible for the skin’s color and for protecting against skin damage. Being exposed to too much UV can burn the skin.
Those who have few melanin tend to burn more easily than those who have more.
Seven Minerals Pure Organic Aloe Vera Gel
This gel is derived from organic aloe vera plants grown in the US, specifically in Southern Texas in a USDA OTCO certified lands. Unlike other aloe vera products that have more thickeners than the actual aloe, this contains pure aloe vera gel from freshly cut leaves.
And speaking of thickeners, other brands use chemical or starch-based thickeners which alter the quality and effectiveness of aloe vera. Seven Minerals uses Seaweed Extract which is 100% natural. It sinks into the skin faster than other thickeners so there’s no stickiness.
Since this is pure aloe, you might want to do a skin test before applying it to other sensitive parts of the body or face. And if you’re allergic to the other ingredients (agar, citric acid, vitamin C, and potassium sorbate), you might want to stay away from this.
It is safe to be applied daily. Even if you don’t have any skin problem or condition, you can still use it every day to moisturize the skin and keep it from drying. Sometimes, it’s our dry skin that causes some problems.
This gel has a thinner consistency, which is great and has a clear color. It treats sunburn, burns, abrasions, cuts, insect bites, rashes, and even cellulite! It can be used for the hair too to keep frizz and dandruff away!
Well, my experience has been great!
We went on a beach trip to Mexico, and you know Mexico. The sun there is just different. We were using sunscreen and lots of it but maybe we should’ve amped up on the SPF level. Anyway, we still got sunburned.
When we got home, I called a friend for a recommendation and was recommended this one. I bought it and was so glad I did!
After just 3 days, my sunburn got totally healed. The rest of the family took about 4 days to heal theirs but that’s still pretty fast.
I also use it for insect bites I got from the trip and they were nothing compared to this aloe vera gel. So since I got my sunburn healed already, I use it as my daily lotion or I sometimes add to my cream-based one and it made it absorb more quickly than it would alone.
I love that my skin is no longer dry but also not sticky when I sweat. I also tried it on my hair like it suggested and definitely made my hair less frizzy. I don’t have dandruff, I think, so I can’t testify to its anti-dandruff properties, but I think it made my hair more manageable.
And I also don’t have to worry about its formulation because it is pure and unadulterated. If I were to apply something to my skin and hair especially on a daily basis, I definitely want something that’s safe. And that’s what this guy is.
I didn’t get any irritations or funny reactions either. It doesn’t have any artificial scent which is great because fragrance can be irritating to the skin. It worked the way it says it would and I love it!
I think this an awesome product because it’s an all-in-one. Use it for hair and skin use. It is safe and effective and you can use it for any skin conditions.
1. Can it be used as a face moisturizer?
Yes, it can as long as you’re not allergic to aloe vera or the other ingredients in this product. In addition, aloe vera is a great moisturizer and hydrator.
Since it is a gel type, it is easily absorbed by the skin which people with oily skin will love. People with dry skin will also fall in love with it because it can be layered.
2. Is it thicker than the actual aloe vera?
3. Can it be used for the hair?
Yes, it can.
Aloe vera has been a proven effective treatment for sunburn, skin dryness, cuts and scratches, and other skin conditions since time immemorial. Cleopatra herself uses it.
And in its gel form, it’s now easier to apply and travel with. You can’t always bring with you even just a leaf.
This one from Seven Minerals is an excellent aloe vera gel. It is organic and pure which guarantees great quality. I don’t have to worry about it getting smelly or losing its quality in the long run.
Overall, it’s a great buy and I highly recommend it for sunburn and other skin problems you may have. Just make sure you’re not allergic to aloe vera or the other components.
